The series 713 is an AC suburban electric train introduced in 1983.
It was developed to electrify local train services on regional lines, and a total of four trainsets (eight cars) were built as prototype units.
When first introduced, the trains were painted in a cream color with a green stripe. Around 1986, this was changed to the “Kyushu color” scheme, featuring a cream body with a blue stripe.
After their introduction, they were used for many years on lines such as the Nagasaki Main Line and the Sasebo Line. In 1996, they were transferred to the Kagoshima Depot, where they were refurbished with a new red-based livery.
-The train can be motorized to an N scale train and is compatible with TM-14 Motorized Chassis, TT-03R Trailer Conversion Kit, and Tomix 0232 Pantograph.
