The ED40 series is an electric locomotive of which two units were introduced by Matsumoto Electric Railway between 1965 and 1966. In 1971, they were transferred to Gakunan Railway.
They were used to haul WAM-type container freight trains transporting industrial goods within Fuji City, remaining in service until the discontinuation of freight operations in March 2012.
In April 2026, both locomotives are preserved at the “Gakutetsu Locomotive Plaza” within Gakunan-Fujioka Station.
-The train can be motorized to an N scale train and is compatible with TM-ED01 Motorized Chassis, TT-05 Trailer Conversion Kit, and Tomix 0230 Pantograph.
