185 series 0-series limited express model description
Overview
- The 185 series 0-series was introduced in 1981 to replace the 153 series that served express and local routes to the Izu area.
- For about six months after introduction it ran on the express Izu service alongside the 153 series.
- After the Izu express was upgraded to a limited express and renamed Odoriko, the 185 series primarily operated on the Odoriko route.
- The fleet underwent renovations in the late 1990s, including installation of reclining seats, and remained in service until 2021.
High Grade HG specifications and features
- High grade specification allows faithful reproduction of the 5-car C formation including the Saha 185.
- Combine this set with models 97241 and 97243 to recreate the full 15-car formation of the 185 series.
- Combine with models 97612 and 97614 and various 153 series models to recreate the mixed-type express Izu and local trains that operated when the 185 series first appeared.
- Original style skirt fitted with three jumper plug receptacles on one side; alternative skirt with fewer jumper plugs included for replacement.

- Headlights produce a warm incandescentlike color using a color prism.
- Leading car driver cab side uses a TN coupler SP with a small body mount.
