The series 200 is a Shinkansen vehicle that appeared at the opening of the Tohoku Shinkansen in 1982. The cold and snow resistant structure has been strengthened to support the natural environment of Tohoku.
The 12-car F formation including the buffet car mainly consisted of the 1000s for 240km, and the 1500s with a round face and the 200s with a pointed style were at the forefront.
