BMW R75 Sidecar 1/35 Scale Plastic Model Kit — World War II German Military Motorcycle

About the actual vehicle
During World War II the German military deployed many motorcycles and sidecars for communications and liaison duties.
Major German motorcycle manufacturers BMW and Zündapp produced these machines, with parts commonality introduced at the military's request to improve reliability and maintainability.
The BMW R75 sidecar variant combined a solo R75 motorcycle with a sidecar. It used an air cooled horizontally opposed two cylinder 750 cc engine.
Like the solo R75, the rear wheel used a shaft drive. The sidecar wheel could be engaged via a selector lever to provide part time drive to the sidecar wheel.
This arrangement preserved on-road speed while delivering excellent off-road performance.
The prototype was completed in 1940 and production began in 1941. The R75 served across many theaters from the deserts of North Africa to the muddy Eastern Front.
