About the Real Vehicle:

The Carro Armato was a medium tank developed and equipped by the Italian Army during World War II. As Italy's first fully-fledged medium tank, it was formalized in 1939 as the M11/39 and developed almost simultaneously as its improved version. By utilizing the M11/39 chassis and maintaining the suspension, the development period was shortened. The upper hull was outfitted with a fully rotating turret equipped with a 47mm tank gun. The tank used a Fiat V8 water-cooled diesel engine. When it was finalized as the M13/40 in 1940, production began in July of that year. Nearly 800 units are said to have been produced by the end of its production in 1943. In 1941, an improved version with a more powerful 15T-M41 diesel engine was developed, later known as the M14/41. Carro Armato marked its first deployment on the North African front and continued to fight valiantly as a mainstay for the Italian Army until the end of the war.
