The Tobu 50000 series is a 20-meter, four-door commuter train introduced on the Tobu Tojo Line in 2005. It was Tobu Railway’s first commuter train with an aluminum body. The unpainted aluminum body features orange accents below the front windows and on the door pocket areas.

Formation 51008 originally operated on the Tojo Line, but in December 2019 it was transferred from Shinrinkoen to Minami-Kurihashi. Equipment for through-service operation was moved from the 30000 series, and from September 2020 the train began service on the Tobu Skytree Line, Tokyo Metro Hanzomon Line, Tokyu Den-en-toshi Line, and related routes.
