The classic 211 series trains that operated from Ueno on the Takasaki Line and the Tohoku Main Line (Utsunomiya Line) are recreated as N gauge models. Introduced in 1985 as cold-climate variants of the 211 series, the +1000 numbering denotes cold-weather specification. The semi-cross-seat configuration is represented by the 1000 series and the long-seat configuration by the 3000 series. Features such as snow-resistant brakes, semi-automatic doors, snow plows and an electrical unit arrangement using MOHA211 and MOHA210 driving motor cars—advantageous for future short-formation operations—are faithfully reproduced. These single-class formations of five cars were often coupled in pairs or threes to form 10–15 car trains through the mid-2000s. A unique formation that included green cars taken from retiring Tokyo-area 211/113 series provided a distinctive 3-car basic set plus 2 green cars plus 5-car formation arrangement with green cars positioned near the ends; this era is modeled here.
- Modeled formations represent the C8 formation (green car included) as a 5-car basic set plus a 5-car add-on set, and the B2 5-car subordinate formation as a 5-car add-on set, matching Takasaki Rolling Stock Center arrangements around 2012.
- After replacement with PS33 single-arm pantographs, the C8 formation can be modeled with either the original obstacle deflector or the reinforced obstacle deflector. Both choices are supported to match various era settings.
- All leading cars come factory-fitted with the original obstacle deflector. The Add-on set includes replacement reinforced obstacle deflectors so you can recreate your preferred appearance.
- 5-car Add-on set (C8 formation cars 1–5)
- Models the long-seat 3000 series (third production batch, 1987) plus two green cars Saro 213 and Saro 210.
- Recreates leading car with evenly sized headlight and taillight housings.
- End valance without beading or stripe; main resistor MR161 with 6-bank arrangement.
- Newly modeled two-level green car Saro 213 with toilet and washroom, represented as the cold-climate modified Saro 213-1000. Door switches are depicted with printing and the replaced air conditioner unit AU713A is modeled.
- The paired green car is the single-floor Saro 210-1000, with door switches shown by printing.
- Lighting and electronics
- Front head and tail lights and front destination/number displays are illuminated. Lighting has an off switch. White LEDs are used for displays and the headlights are warm white.
- Pre-fitted front display and service number show Local / 875M. Exchange decals are included for Rapid, Commuter Rapid, blank, 3553M, 3949M and blank.
- Running performance and mechanical features
- Slotless motor provides smooth, quiet running.
- Body-mounted close-coupling couplers are fitted at both ends and intermediate connections (without hooks). Includes one-stage electrical coupler and a dummy mount for non-coupled display.
- Snow plows are pre-attached to the leading bogies.
