Kato 10-1855 Series 211-3000 (Takasaki Line / Tohoku Main Line) 5 Cars Attachment Configuration Set (N scale)

- Faithful reproduction of the 211 series that handled medium distance services from Ueno toward the Takasaki Line and the Tohoku Main Line (Utsunomiya Line).

- Introduced in 1985 as cold-climate variants of the 211 series used on the Tokaido Main Line. Cold-climate sets received the +1000 numbering. Semi cross seat cars are the 1000 series and long seat cars are the 3000 series.

- Notable features of the prototype: snow-resistant brakes, semi-automatic doors, snow plows, and motor car arrangements using MOHA211 and MOHA210 units that were suitable for future short-formation operation.

- These single-class 5 car sets were commonly coupled in 2 to 3 formations to make 10 to 15 car trains and remained active until around 2005. In 2004, green cars transferred from retired 211 and 113 series on the Tokyo side created unique formations featuring green cars inserted between the basic 3 car and other cars.

5-Car Subordinate Set B2 (cars 11–15)

- Represents semi cross seat 1000 series cars from the 1984 fourth batch.

- Recreates front end with evenly sized headlight and tail light frames.

- Car end panel beading and stripe absent.

- Includes circular base train radio antenna on the roof.

Pantograph and Obstacle Deflector Options

- After replacement with PS33 single arm pantographs, the C8 set can be configured with either the original style obstacle deflector or the reinforced style obstacle deflector to match various era settings.

- All head end cars come fitted with the original style obstacle deflector.

Lighting and Electronics

- Head and tail lights and front destination display light up. Lighting uses white LEDs with a switch to turn displays off. Headlights illuminate in warm white.

- DCC friendly.

Drive and Running

- The powered car in the 5-car Subordinate Set is supplied without TORA traction tires to support coordinated multi-set operation.

Couplers and Connections

- Body mount tight-coupling style couplers used on both end and intermediate faces, hookless design.

- Includes 1-step electrical connectors and dummy coupler body supports for non-connected use.

Exterior Details

- Snow plows are fitted to the leading bogies.

- Front destination and train number are fitted as "Local" and "875M" with replacement options included: "Rapid", "Commuter Rapid", blank, "3553M", "3949M", and blank.

- Destination sticker sheet included for additional options.
