Kato 10-1694 Chizu Express Series HOT7000 Super Hakuto (Type HOT7020 Included) 6 Cars Set (N scale)

The intercity limited express Super Hakuto connects Kyoto and Osaka with Tottori and Kurayoshi via the third-sector Chizu Express. Since opening in 1994, the service has used the company's controlled-natural-tilting diesel multiple-unit Series HOT7000. The name HOT reflects Hyogo, Okayama, and Tottori, the three prefectures along the route.

This 6-car set includes two through end cars of Type HOT7020, giving the train different end shapes at each end. It reproduces the current specification with LED headlights and full-color LED destination displays.

Key features and specifications

• Recreates the 1994 appearance of Type HOT7020 and the 2002 appearance of the other cars.
• Type HOT7020 is newly reproduced with new molds, including the semi-streamlined front, distinctive shaping, and obstacle-deflector openings.
• HOT 7022 is fitted with a dummy coupler; HOT 7021 has a coupling and removable gangway adapter.
• Head and tail lights illuminate and include an off switch.
• Roof shapes are differentiated for exhaust pipes and air-conditioner manufacturers; cars other than Type HOT7020 reproduce the fifth batch with round exhaust pipes and Denso air conditioners.
• Side windows reproduce the characteristic half-mirror reflective appearance.
• KATO's body-tilting mechanism recreates the inward carbody tilt on curves.
• Intermediate couplings use body-mounted close couplers without hooks.
• Slotless motor for smooth and quiet running.
• Destination display stickers included.
