The KIHA110 series is a general-purpose diesel multiple unit introduced by JR East in 1991. It is known for its light, agile styling and distinctive color schemes, and for adopting then-new high-output engines and powertrain systems that improved operational speed. Its exterior echoes the JNR era, and KIHA110 trains have attracted attention when wrapped in classic JNR-style liveries. On the Tadami Line (Aizuwakamatsu to Koide), to commemorate the full line reopening after restoration from natural disasters, a KIHA110 was painted in the KIHA40 livery that once operated on the line and has been in service since 2022.
