Kato 10-2213 JR Shikoku Series 2000 Limited Express 'Nanpu' 4 Cars Set (N scale)

The JR Shikoku 2000 series, an iconic limited express diesel multiple unit, is reissued in a slotless motor specification. The 2000 series, used on intercity services between Honshu and Shikoku and within Shikoku, was the world’s first tilting DMU and Japan’s first controlled-tilt vehicle. The prototype TSE set debuted in 1989 and won the Laurel Prize that year. Mass production began in 1990, with operation at speeds up to 120 km/h. While many primary limited express services have been replaced by newer types, the 2000 series still runs in service alongside the N2000 series.

- KATO’s unique body-tilt mechanism reproduces the inward tilt of the car body when passing curves

- Head and tail lights plus illuminated headmark with on/off switch; warm white LEDs used

- Body-mounted close couplers without hooks on all cars; leading car fronts fitted with dummy couplers. Includes obstacle deflector and coupler for actual coupling

- Destination sticker sheet included

- Drive upgraded to slotless motor

- Packaging changed from Best Selection box to 4-car paper box

- Product number, price, and JAN code updated to reflect these changes

- Other specifications remain the same as the previous release
