Series EF510-300 is an AC/DC electric locomotive introduced as the successor to the ED76 and EF81 that hauled freight trains across Kyushu. Based on the series EF510-0 operating in Honshu, it features specification changes to suit Kyushu ground infrastructure. In line with the JR Freight Group Long-Term Vision 2030 and to reduce power consumption in freight rail transport, it is equipped with AC regenerative braking.
- Model of Moji Locomotive Depot No. 304
- Reproduces rain gutters around the entire body and partially closed louvers
- Beautifully reproduces various body markings and the JR mark, the distinctive silver body with the red band wrapped around the lower section, and the RED THUNDER logo on the side
- Roof wiring uses metal wire for realism; high-voltage insulators are green and depict applied insulating grease

- Power unit uses a truck-mounted motor unit with a coreless motor
- Minimum curve radius of 360 mm for single locomotive operation
- Headlights reproduce granular LEDs. Head and tail lights illuminate. Headlight uses a white LED and lights when moving forward. Tail lights can be selected in three lighting modes with a train radio antenna shaped selector switch:

- Body number EF510-304, inspection markings and various other markings are printed
- Designed to accommodate installation of a DCC sound decoder with space reserved inside the body for a DCC decoder and a sound-capable speaker. Equipped with a see-through side air filter that combines realistic appearance and effective sound projection
