DF200 diesel locomotive introduced into mass production in 1994, widely known by the nickname RED BEAR. This locomotive is used as a freight hauler on non electrified lines across Hokkaido and the Chukyo region. Variants include the 0, 50, 100, and 200 series due to differences in engine and specifications. In recent years the JRF mark has been removed from the sides of the body.
Among the DF200-200 series assigned to the Aichi Locomotive Depot, unit 201 debuted in 2023 as the Ai-Me wrapped locomotive supporting the local community. The full side wrap and upgraded LED headlights introduced in October 2023 are faithfully reproduced.
New DF200 model added to the lineup for pulling freight trains on non electrified sections. Enjoy operation with linked container freight cars and tank cars.
