Kato 10-2218 Hokuetsu Express 683 Series 8000 Subseries Snow Rabbit Express 9 Cars Set recreates the Hokuetsu Express 683 Series 8000 subseries in N scale. Before the Hokuriku Shinkansen opened to Kanazawa, the limited express Hakutaka connected the Hokuriku region with the Tokyo area via Echigo-Yuzawa and the Joetsu Shinkansen. On the Hokuetsu Express Hokuhoku Line, Hakutaka services were known for 160 km/h operation, the fastest regular speed on conventional Japanese lines.
The 683 Series 8000 subseries has a distinctive Frosty White body with Crimson Red and Aqua Blue bands. This release represents the Snow Rabbit Express formation and includes updated details such as improved leading-end coupler parts and front door parts for coupled operation, along with a slotless motor for smooth running.
