Kato 10-2225 Series 119-5000 Iida Line 2 Cars Set (N scale)

Series 119 entered service in 1982 to replace older electric commuter trains on the Iida Line. It was designed for the route's short station spacing, numerous gradients, severe winter weather, and long passenger ride times. Following later air-conditioning modifications, units were renumbered into the 5000 and 5100 series. Regular service ended in 2012 after replacement by Series 213-5000 and Series 313-3000 trains.

This set recreates the JR Tokai Series 119-5000 in the post-1992 appearance, with a white body, Shonan color band, and gray underfloor equipment.

• PS23 pantograph with round-horn type shoes.
• Head and tail lights and front destination display illuminate; an off switch is included. Uses warm white LEDs.
• Body-mount close-coupler type couplers without hooks.
• Slotless motor for smooth, quiet running; traction tires are not fitted to support reliable multiple-unit operation.
• Front destination display is preinstalled blank; destination sticker sheet included.
