Series 119 entered service in 1982 to replace older commuter EMUs on the Iida Line. It was designed for the route's short station spacing, steep gradients, severe winter weather, and long passenger ride times. Following later air-conditioning modifications, units were renumbered into the 5000 and 5100 series. Regular service ended in 2012 after replacement by Series 213-5000 and Series 313-3000 trains.
This 4-car set recreates the JR Tokai Series 119-0 and Series 119-5000 in revival livery, representing a distinctive combination from Ogaki Depot.
