The Series 923-3000 T5 Configuration, commonly called Doctor Yellow, is a Shinkansen inspection train that gathers baseline data for track and overhead-line maintenance on the Tokaido and Sanyo Shinkansen. Its distinctive yellow livery is popular with Shinkansen fans, children, and general travelers. The real train is scheduled to retire in January 2027.
This 7-car set recreates the JR West-owned T5 Configuration and includes the current retirement commemorative Thank You logos printed on the door windows of cars 1 and 7.
