Nankai Electric Railway has launched a large number of corresponding new commuter trains ahead of boosting the overhead line voltage of 1500V in 1973.
Since 1969, a total of 152 cars have been manufactured for the 7100 series.
At the time of the "Kada Sakana Line Project" started in 2016, a two-car train for one-man trains was decorated with a sea bream motif called "Medetai Densha".
As of the summer of 2021, four colors have appeared, and the 7197 formation "Nana" based on red appeared in March 2019.
From the summer of 2021, the "Sumikko Gurashi x Nankai Densha" campaign was held, and the characters and stories of "Sumikko Gurashi" were wrapped around the windows and doors of the "Nana" formation.
It operates until December of the same year.
