Microace A1540 JNR Series 301 Gray/Yellow Stripe Non‑Air‑Conditioned 7 Cars Set (N Scale)

The JNR 301 series was a commuter EMU introduced in 1966 for through services between the Chuo-Sobu Line local services and the Eidan Subway, now Tokyo Metro, Tozai Line. Based on the 103 series, it featured a gangway front for subway emergency access, air-spring bogies, and naturally ventilated resistors to reduce noise in underground sections. Its aluminum-alloy body with a silver finish was a distinctive feature.

The trains were later repainted in gray with yellow stripes, and after the formation of JR, the stripe color was changed to blue to prevent passengers from boarding the wrong trains. After receiving air-conditioning and refurbishment work, the series remained in service until 2003, when it was replaced by the E231-800 series.

This model reproduces a 7-car, non-air-conditioned formation from the 1970s to 1980s, finished in gray with yellow stripes and JNR logos on the sides. It includes upgraded flywheel-powered motor units, separately reproduced ventilator types, revised markings, silver-printed end-window frames, and destination stickers including front JNR logos and rapid-service indicators.
