Overview

This is a 1/24 scale plastic assembly model kit reproducing the Jaguar XJ220, the super sports car Jaguar unveiled in 1992.

The XJ220 name is said to refer to its target top speed of 220 miles per hour, roughly 350 km/h.

A prototype was shown at the 1988 Birmingham Motor Show as a four-wheel-drive mid-engined car with a V12.

The production model was announced at the 1991 Tokyo Motor Show and went on sale from 1992.

The production car a 3.5-liter V6 DOHC engine with twin turbochargers and switched to rear-wheel drive.

Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h was 3.9 seconds.

From 1993, race versions were produced and private teams campaigned the XJ220 in events such as the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the Italian GT Championship.
