The Scania R143M Streamline is one of the world’s leading trucks. Introduced by Swedish manufacturer Scania AB in 1987 as part of the 3-series, the R143M Streamline became the most successful model of that series. The cab was enlarged and its aerodynamics were improved through extensive wind tunnel testing, significantly reducing fuel consumption. It is powered by a 14 liter V8 engine producing 500 hp, and from the late 1980s to the mid 1990s it was widely regarded as a benchmark for European and global truck design. The R143M’s role was later taken over by the 4-series in 1998.
