M36B1 1/35 Scale Plastic Model Kit - US Army M36B1 Tank Destroyer
About the real vehicle
In the latter half of World War II, as German vehicles adopted heavier armor, the US Army increased firepower by developing new vehicles. One project mounted a 90 mm anti-aircraft gun adapted as a tank gun, the 50 caliber 90 mm Gun M3, in a newly designed turret to replace the 76.2 mm gun on the earlier M10 tank destroyer. Production began in April 1944 and the vehicle was standardized as the M36 in June 1944. To make up for hull shortages, some vehicles combined the 90 mm gun with the M4A3 Sherman hull and an open-top, fully rotating turret. This variant, standardized as the M36B1, saw nearly 200 units produced from 1944.
About the model
This 1/35 scale plastic assembly kit faithfully reproduces the M36B1 tank destroyer used by the US Army during World War II. The kit accurately recreates the M36B1 configuration, combining the M4A3 Sherman hull with an open-top turret. Finished length is 213 mm.
Lower hull includes front and rear panels as separate parts to precisely model shapes and details.
Suspension reproduces the mechanical characteristics unique to the M4A3 Sherman hull.
Upper hull features separate-part hatches and onboard tools for three-dimensional, detailed realism.
The open-top turret is modeled for both external shape and internal mechanisms, offering a mechanical and realistic finish.
Tracks use an easy-to-assemble belt-type design.
