Top 5 Must-Have Star Wars Collectible Figures

May 31, 2017

Some might say that Star Wars fever has hit the culture again, but it’s probably safe to say that Star Wars fever never left after its initial release in 1977. Today there are more Star Wars films than ever with a new one being released every year. But regardless of if you’re a fan of the original three films or this crop of new ones, one of the best ways to show your fandom is with collectible figures.

Keep reading to read about our 5 must-have Star Wars collectible figures.

1. Medicom MAFEX Rey from Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Chibi-style Ash and Pikachu figurines in a battle pose.

It’s best to start with the true hero of the new Star Wars trilogy, the Jedi Padawan, Rey. This figure from Medicom stands at about six inches tall and comes with several add-ons, including her Rebel helmet and sand-protector face-shield, her supply pack, her small blaster pistol, her dueling staff and, of course, her (or rather, Anakin’s) blue lightsaber. Rey also comes with five different hand variations that can be swapped.

This Star Wars collectible figure can be posed in various combat or neutral stances, making her a great addition for your desk at work or wherever you keep your collection.

2. Kotobukiya ARTFX Kylo Ren from Star Wars: The Force Awakens

For those of us more in touch with the dark side, Kotobukiya’s posed Kylo Ren figure is a great addition for our collections of Sith lords, bounty hunters, and other varieties of scum and villainy. This figure is at a 1/7 scale and is pre-posed and stands on a patch of snow, his lightsaber raised high in a striking pose. The hood and the robe are made of real fabric and it stands at a pretty mighty 11 inches.

3. Medicom MAFEX Boba Fett

Who could forget our favorite bounty hunter from the original trilogy, the man of few words and clone of the legendary Jango Fett, Boba Fett? This other figure from Medicom is similar to the Rey figure in that it stands at around 6 inches and comes with a lot of variation and add-ons, such as four different hand variations, Fett’s sniper rifle, Fett’s pistol, Fett’s jetpack, and a fully adjustable antenna on the helmet.

The figure is adjustable into different poses, including a particularly imposing one of him aiming down his sights at his next unlucky target.

4. Kotobukiya ARTFX Han Solo and Chewbacca 2-Figure Set

Standing male and female Chibi-style anime figurines on clear stands with a grey backdrop.

Featuring two figures as one might be seen as cheating, but let’s be honest: there is no Han Solo without his furry sidekick Chewbacca, or vice versa! Both of these figures from Kotobukiya are modeled after the heroes as they appeared in Episode IV: A New Hope with Han pointing his blaster pistol heroically at what can only be charging stormtroopers with Chewie doing the same with his trusty bowcaster.

Both Star Wars collectible figuress stand between seven and eight inches and would be a great addition to any fan of the original heroes who helped destroy the Death Star.

5. Kaiyodo Revoltech Series No. 001 Darth Vader

You could see this as saving the best for last and there’s reason for that: countless people’s favorite character, good or bad, from Star Wars is the one and only Darth Vader. This figure of the infamous Sith Lord from Kaiyodo is an excellent addition to any true fan’s collection with adjustable hands and poses along with Vader’s awesome blood red lightsaber.

The cape is also adjustable to move in conjunction with the pose you want Vader to strike as he stands in your collection.
