What does “Z Scale” Mean?
There are several different “scales” for sizes of model trains, which help make sure that everything you build, from the tracks to the trees for your scene, fit with each other. These different scales are denoted by a letter, and “Z Scale” means that every part of your kit is 1/220 of the original size, meaning that everything in real life is 220 times the size of what you are building! Looking for a consistent scale is a good way to make sure that everything fits, functions, and looks realistic for your scene. With Rokuhan, you can be guaranteed that you are getting Z Scale products!
What other Japanese hobby brands does Plaza Japan carry?

Is Rokuhan good for a newer hobbyist?
The short answer is yes! While Z Scale models can feel daunting to a new beginner due to extensive detail despite their small size, there are many reasons that this hobby has been such a delight to people across generations and across the world. What is a Z Scale Shorty?
The Z Scale Shorty is an especially fun design. Generally speaking, some are not painted, allowing for even greater creativity, while some are ready to go but show a more “chibi” or “cute and small” style that can be especially fun for building and displaying.
