Princess Luna, also known as Nightmare Moon, is an Alicorn pony and the main antagonist in season one of My Little Pony Friendship is Magic. She is Princess Celestia’s younger sister and the adoptive aunt of Princess Cadance. Once the Elements of Harmony restored Luna to her former self, she returned to rule over the kingdom of Equestria alongside her sister. However, bitter at the fact that all the ponies choose to sleep through the night, she refuses to lower the moon, eventually transforming into her wicked alter ego Nightmare Moon.
